Michael A. Gatto, age 65, passed away January 12, 2018.

Mike was born in Chicago and grew up in Crystal Lake.

He dedicated his life to public service. Mike began his career as a deputy with the McHenry County Sheriff's Department where he served for 4 years.

Mike then took a position with the Stateville Correctional Center serving for 9 years as an Internal Investigator.

In October, 1992, he joined the Braidwood Police Department and retired with 25 years of service to the Village.

Mike was an adventurous overseas traveler. He visited countries such as England, Spain, France, Germany and Italy.

He enjoyed a close relationship with his family, especially his sister, Julie, and spending his free time with his friends and his dog, Zoey.

Mike is survived by his brother, James Paul Gatto of Crystal Lake and his sister, Jane Gatto of Orlando, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Phillip Gatto; his mother, Mary Ann Gatto and his sister, Julie Gatto.

Arrangements entrusted to the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home, Braidwood.
