Mrs. Douglas was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She celebrated 69 years of marriage to Philip David Douglas until his passing in 2017. She lived most of her life in Goodsprings and served the community as Post Master until her retirement. She then moved to Jasper where she became a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. Mrs. Douglas graduated from Parrish High School and attended Walker College and the University of Alabama. Mrs. Douglas was a dedicated proponent of education and was strongly supportive to family as well as friends in those pursuits.
In addition to her beloved husband, her daughter Dr. Joan Douglas Domnanovich preceded her in death. Her parents Nobel Sanford and Ida Busby Sanford also preceded her in death.
