Mrs. Johnson was a very outspoken active woman. She loved to dance and enjoyed spending time with her family. She also was involved in several houses accompanied by Lillian Roof and Diana Collier.
She was preceded in death by her parents Georgia Mae Simons and Lelia Mae Heartfield ; Grandmother Maybell Kyles; Husband Willie James Johnson; Son Raymond Devon Mitchell; Sister Maybell Triplett; Brothers James Flowers and Jessie Kyles.
Mrs. Johnson leaves to cherish her legacy and memories: her children Carolynn (Will) Wade and Robert (LaKesha) McClain; 15 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sisters Rosetta Franklin, Ella Hye, Marie Simons, Mary Bracey Lewis and May Banks; brothers Claude Benson and David Lee McCovery; uncle Claude Chapelle; devoted friends Talvesha Glaude and Irma; along with a host of nieces, nephews and other devoted relatives and friends.
