Ruth L. Dawson, 82, of Petal, died January 14, 2018, at Merit Health Wesley.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Leeville Baptist Church from 9:30 a.m. until the service at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Dawson was a retired registered nurse.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard B. Dawson; her parents, Marshall and Flossie Walters; a sister, Ethel Stuart; and a brother, Harold Walters.

She is survived by two sons, Brian H. Dawson of Raleigh and David B. Dawson of Laurel; two daughters, Robin L. (Tony) Powell of Osyka and Melissa A. (George) Bennett of Helena, AL; three sisters, Mary (James) Walton of Eastabuchie, Irma Walters of Lumberton and Betty Revette of Petal; one brother, Lonnie C. (Paulette) Walters of Petal; and six grandchildren, Brent Powell, Justin Dawson, Olivia Bennett, Levi Burnham, Lauran Burnham and Seth Dawson.
