Janice Marie Whitt, 82, of Cumberland, died Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Lakeview Medical Center. She was born February 18, 1935 in Boyceville, WI to James and Stella (Turner) Foust. She was married in Stillwater, MN on May 2, 1959 to James Whitt, Sr. Janice worked hard on the dairy farm, as Jim worked full time at 3M, all while raising her family. After retirement, they wintered twelve years in Apache Junction, AZ. They lived several years in Coon Rapids, MN, before finally settling in Turtle Lake. After her husband passed away, she moved to Cumberland. Family times were the most important to Jan; whether reunions, weddings or just visiting with relatives.

She is survived by her children: Jacklene (John) Spanjers of Princeton, MN, Bob (Cindy) Benson of Turtle Lake, Carol (Michael) Peterson of Cameron, Julie (Peter) Zappa of Rice Lake and James (Shannon) Whitt, Jr, of Cumberland; 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Steve Benson; granddaughter, Karen Zappa; brothers: Desmond and Dewayne.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 22, 2018 at Cumberland Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Dorn officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery - Cumberland. Pallbearers are Brian Benson, Jesse Whitt, Sheldon Stedman and Joseph Zappa. Honorary pallbearers are James Hinrichs, Josh Distad and Colton Smith. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.
