Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Lone Grove Baptist Church for Mrs. Docia Medley, 78, who died at her home, 30 East Locust, Saturday. Rev. Harry Lee was in charge and burial was in the Lone Grove Cemetery under the direction of the Mills-Humphrey Funeral Home. Mrs. Medley was born December 24, 1882 in Ardmore, Indian Territory, and was married to W. R. Medley, December 17, 1899 in Ardmore. She had been a Pittsburg County resident for 58 years. Survivors are eight daughters, Mrs. Rena Miller of McAlester, Mrs. Myrtle Deggs of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Mae Helterbrand of McAlester, Mrs. Ida Barlow of Scipio, Mrs. Beatrice Kelton of Lee Vining, Calif., Mrs. Lavetta Franklin of Lancaster, Tex., Mrs. Lena Far Fritcher of Dallas and Mrs. Joann Cooper of Dallas, Texas. One son, Robert Medley of Dallas; five sisters, Mrs. Claudia Myers of Scipio, Mrs. Emma Tedder, Tulare, Calif., Mrs. Ethel Burns of Ordway, Calif., Mrs. Lou Caldwell of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Lea Scott of San Rapheal, Calif.; 41 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Jim Helterbrand, Billy Paul Deggs, Don Deggs, Jack Barlow, Sam Medley and Bennie Franklin Jr.
