Honea Path – Claude Ruben Phillips, 91, of Otto Lollis Road, husband of Judy Collins Phillips, died Monday, January 15, 2018 at Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.

Born in Abbeville County he was a son of the late Terrence and Ethel Roark Phillips. He was of the Pentecostal faith and was a retired heavy equipment operator. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WWII in the 1st Infantry “Big Red One” in the European Theater.

Surviving are his wife of the home, a daughter, Ann Murdock (Danny) of Honea Path, two step-sons, Danny Evans (April) of Ware Shoals and David Evans of Ware Shoals, two step-daughters, Lisa Phillips (Derrick) of Honea Path and Roxanne Peters of Honea Path, a brother, Clyde Phillips of Honea Path, five sisters, Ruth Gunnells of Donalds, Hazel Holliday of Belton, Katie Belle Lollis of Donalds, Lois Phillips of Honea Path and Betty Malone of Honea Path, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by six brothers, Alton, Furman, Bob, Jim, David, and Jerry Phillips and two sisters, Lily Mae Lollis and Inez Gambrell.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Shane Elrod officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery, Anderson.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 PM Wednesday at Pruitt Funeral Home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home, 4605 Belton Highway, Anderson, SC 29621.
