Charles Wheaton, 89 of Paris, passed away Friday evening, January 12, 2018 at his home.



Charles was born on September 5, 1928 in Alahambra, CA, the son of George W. and Hazel M Eberhard Wheaton. He married Joyce Perrigo in1947 and she preceded him in death on May 15, 2007. He is survived by one son, Jimmy Wheaton of Paris; two grandsons, Dustin Wheaton and Shannon Wheaton, both of Paris; three granddaughters, Victoria Cupp, Amanda Tuma and Emily Young, all of Paris; great-grandchildren; Alaiyna, Nick and Madison Wheaton of Mexico; Lilly Wheaton of Paris; Molly and Elizabeth Cupp and Ali Morgan of Paris; Cody and Abbi Tuma of Paris and Chelsea and Andrew Young of Paris and two great-great-grandchildren, Cloe Cockrell and Bethany Levings of Paris.



Charles formerly worked for the telephone company and hauled lime for Charles Hamilton. In 1950 Charles and his wife started farming and continued until his death.



He was an avid hunter and he especially enjoyed quail hunting, trap shooting, and shooting high-powered silhouettes. Charles established the Paris Gun Club, in which he was an active member and he was, also, a lifelong member of the NRA.



Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 18, at 2:00 p.m. at Agnew Funeral Home with Reverend Donna Scott officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
