Graveside services for Franklin Delano Pierce, 85, of Tyler will be held at 11:15 a.m. at The DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, Texas 75211 on Wednesday, January 17, 2018. Mr. Pierce passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018 in Tyler.
Franklin Delano Pierce was born to the late Arthur Payton and Jewel Pierce in Ennis, Texas on March 26, 1932. He served in the United States Army as a medical technician during the Korean Conflict with the 618th Medical Company. He earned an associate's degree and then worked as an Estate Planner until he retired. He was a member of Friendly Baptist Church.
Franklin is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law: Eddie and Gay Pierce of Lake Travis, Stephen and Sarah Pierce of Fletchen, N.C., and Glen and Paulette Pierce of Tyler; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Merle Mees of Liberty, Missouri, as well as eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mr. Pierce is preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Katholene Pierce.
