He is survived by son, Eddie Greer and wife, Carol of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren, Amy Raymer and Colton Bauer-Greer and wife Christina; great-granddaughter, Caid Greer; stepchildren, Tara Walker and husband, Nick and Lori Buchanan and husband, Chad; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Rita Busby; sister, Mildred Greer; and brothers, J. C. Greer, Lester Greer and Everett Greer.
Kenneth was a life-long resident of Jefferson County and had made many friends down through the years. He had retired from many years of employment at Vernois Stove Foundry in Mt. Vernon. He also operated a Register-News paper route for several years. He served in the US Army during WWII, and had served in the American Legion Honor Detail for many years, helping to commemorate others service to our country. Kenneth was a member of East Salem Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at Hughey Funeral Home with Rev. Richard McCormick officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. to the funeral hour at the funeral home. Burial will follow at East Salem Cemetery in rural Mt. Vernon. Full Military Rites will be conducted at the cemetery by American Legion Post #141 of Mt. Vernon. Memorials in Kenneth’s memory can be made to the East Salem Cemetery and will received at the Hughey Funeral Home at any time.
