daughter of Clarence E and Madeline Reynolds. She graduated high school in Clarinda, Iowa and followed with two years of service in the U.S. Navy. After being honorably discharged, Sheila married Joe Higgins on April 22, 1955. She was an employee of Metropolitan Community College, having worked at the Longview and Blue River campuses as an administrative assistant to the campus president for 23 years before retiring.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Beverly Heilig and Jacqueline Batterton.
Sheila is survived by her husband Joe Higgins and three children Kathy Smith of Lee’s Summit, MO, Sharon Carter of League City, TX, and Dale Higgins of Kansas City, MO. She also leaves eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
