COURIER-JOURNAL NEWSPAPER - OBITUARY - 10/15/2016 - Jean Douglass Kinnaird passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at the age of 95. Born in Lexington, Kentucky, she attended the University of Kentucky where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She also was a member of the Woman's Club of Louisville. She was married to the love of her live, Eugene F. Kinnaird, Jr. for 71 years. Jean was preceded in death by her husband and her great-grandson, Jacob Samuel Kinnaird. Jean loved the Lord, she loved her family, and she brought a smile to everyone she met. She will be deeply missed. Yet it is with great joy and peace that we send her home to her final resting place. We give thanks for Granny Jean who so richly blessed our lives. We give our sincere thanks to the staff at the Barton House who lovingly cared for Jean. Jean is survived by her children, Jane Hodges (Phil), Gene Kinnaird (Leah), Marianne Booth (Wally) and Tom Kinnaird (Susanne); her grandchildren, Philip Hodges, Lee Anne Pinner, Mary Lynn Crenshaw, Chris Kinnaird, Jean Allen Bridgman, Cecy Hagan, Tommy Kinnaird, Emily Ray, Joseph Kinnaird and Bethany Curran; 28 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Crescent Hill Presbyterian Church, 142 Crescent Ave, Louisville, KY 40206, with visitation immediately following. Burial will take place at a later date. Expressions of sympathy can be made to Bridgehaven, 950 S. 1st Street, Louisville, KY. 40203, or to the charity of choice.
