Sarah Jennie Darbyshire was a daughter of Morris Covert and Mary Annie (Sumner) Darbyshire.

The Wilmington (OH) Journal, Wednesday, August 12, 1896
"Jennie Darbyshire, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marsh [sic] Darbyshire, was born July 1, 1873, and died at the residence of her father-in-law, Cyrus Stephens, August 2, 1896, aged twenty-three years and one month. She was a victim of that fell destroyer, consumption. All was done for her that kind friends and skillful physicians could do, but of no avail. The last week her suffering was intense, and in her weak and feeble voice she tried to sing, 'I Will Arise and Go to Jesus,' but when the summons came her passing from this earth life was as gentle as a dew drop from heaven. On September 1, 1894, she was united in marriage to John A. Stephens. This union was blessed with one daughter, who will never know a mother's love and care, being but eleven weeks old. The deceased leaves father, two sisters and two brothers, her mother having preceded her to that better land several years ago. In 1894 she united with the Baptist Church at this place and was baptized by Rev. J. L. Smith. The funeral ceremonies took place at the church Monday afternoon, at 2:30, and were conducted by Rev. N. E. Bennett, of Wilmington, after which the remains were interred at Port William, followed by a large concourse of relatives and friends. The heart-broken husband has the sympathy of all."
