LALLATHIN, REVEREND JACOB A., fondly known as "Brother Joe," died Monday, Sept. 19, in Orlando, FL, at age 85. Born April 15, 1926, in Sardis, OH, he lived in Winter Springs since 1968. Joe grew up in Sardis and served in the U.S. Army at the end of WWII. He pastored churches in Brady Lake and Sardis, OH, before moving to Florida, where he pastored Grant Street Baptist Church in Orlando for 42 years. Loved by countless church members, neighbors and all who knew him, Brother Joe has taken his place in Heaven but left us with an emptiness here.

Preceded in death by his son Tim (Pam) of Winter Springs, He was also preceded by three children who died at birth, Quinton, John and Priscilla.

He is survived by Ruby, his wife of 63 years, to whom he was married May 1, 1948, in Ravenna, OH, where he began his ministry a few years later. Other survivors include sons Michael (Carol), Daniel (Julie), and Phillip, all of Winter Springs, and daughter Deborah Lallathin Hodges (Mark) of Riverview, and sister Virginia of New Mexico. Also surviving are grandchildren Michael Duffy, Daneen Leonard, Kristy Romano, Danielle Mace, T.J. Lallathin, Chris Lallathin, Matt Lallathin, Tiffany Lallathin, Chad Hodges, Candace Hodges, Isaiah Lallathin, and great-grandchildren Josh, Gabriela, Sarah, David, Brandon, Hunter, Julian, Mikayla and Aiden.

Arrangements at Baldwin Fairchild-East Altamonte, Viewing Thursday, Sept. 22 from 4:30-7:30 pm and Funeral Service Friday, Sept. 23, at 12 Noon. Interment Friday September 23 2011, All Faiths Memorial Park.
