Carol Jean Rountree, 75, departed this life on January 6, 2018, 7:05 p.m. at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
Carol was born on May 5, 1942, in Kansas City, Missouri to Carl and Inez McCarthy.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Inez Miller, her father, Carl Lemmons, Sr., a son, Larry Rountree, brothers, Carl Lemmons, Jr., Richard Lemmons, Anthony Nimrod, and Stephen Miller.
Carol grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and worked at the Holiday Inn as a Housekeeper for twenty-five years. She married Robert Rountree in 1956, in Kansas City, Missouri.
Carol Jean Rountree leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Robert of Kansas City, Missouri; her son, Darren Rountree; her brothers: Thelmond Edward, David, Daniel and Billy, and Daryl Nimrod all of Kansas City, Missouri, Michael Lemmons of Amarillo, Texas and Herbert Lemmons (Graliela) of Chula Vista, California; sisters: Sharon Nimrod and Sheryl Barker of Kansas City, Missouri, and Tina Nimrod of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral Service for Carol Jean Rountree will be held Saturday, January 20, 12:00 p.m. at the Lawrence A. Jones and Sons Funeral Chapel, 1800 E. Linwood Blvd.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Chapel.
Interment, Twelve Gates Cemetery.
