Atkinson - Sara J Harvey, went to be with her Lord and Savior December 26, 2017 at Tissues Country Estates Athens, Maine. She was born March 15, 1934 in Robbinston, the daughter of Ivor and Thelma (Carle) Andrews. Sara was an avid writer. She wrote many articles for the Piscataquis Oberver and other publications. She wrote a book about her mother called I Remember Maw. She worked for many years at the Playmill in Atkinson where she was able to use a lot of her creative ideas to make the production of the wooden toys go smoothly. She finished her working career at the Shop & Save in Dover-Foxcroft working in the deli department. She was a caregiver to her mother, father, and mother-in-law. She turned her house into a packing room and organized packing four 40 foot containers with warm clothes that were shipped to the Ukraine around 2001. Sara was predeceased by her husband of 37 years Lawrence Harvey, her son Timothy Harvey, her grandson Thomas Adams, her brothers Basil and Calvin Andrews, her sister Patricia McCorrison and her step mother Phyllis (Tupper) Andrews. Sara is survived by her son Thomas E. Harvey and his wife Genevieve of China, her daughter Cynthia McCourt of Dexter, Tim's wife Laurie Harvey Sheppard of Atkinson, her grandchildren Corey Adams, Margaret Crider, Elisha Harvey, Thomas Harvey, Matthew Harvey and Hailee McCourt, her great grandchildren Harvey, Harrison, and Hudson Crider, Andrew Harvey and Genevieve Harvey, her sister Barbara Richards of Dover-Foxcroft and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday July 28, 2018 at Atkinson Methodist Church, Atkinson. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers donate to His Light For Haiti. Donations may be sent in memory of Sara to HLFH 137 Maple Rd. Atkinson, Maine 04426.
