George was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tommy; and sons, Rocky and Dusty Bowman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Terry Tatum; daughters, Holly Tatum, Val (Randy) Asher, and Kim Bowman; son, Robert Bowman; sisters, Amy Garrett and Pam (Jimmy) Walton; brothers, Boyd (Alice) Tatum, Jimmy (Elsie) Tatum, and Chuck (Sissy) Dunaway; 11 grandchildren; great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
George was a proud veteran of the US Army and served in the Vietnam War. He retired from Champion Paper and enjoyed hunting and riding his Harleys.
A visitation will be held Wednesday January 17 from 11AM to 1PM at Higher Heights Church of God, 8111 US 127, Camden. The funeral service will begin at 1PM with Pastor Marvin Hocker officiating. Burial will follow at Somerville Cemetery, Somerville.
