CHEROKEE VILLAGE -- Donnie Adair Easley, aka "DD" and "Mama D," 71, of Cherokee Village died Friday, September 22, 2006.

She was born on Nov. 5, 1934 at Havana, to Julius and Hazel Baker Adair.

Donnie retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. During her 25 years of service, she held positions in McGehee, Little Rock, Forrest City and Jonesboro.

Her real career was as a loving, caring wife and mother. She never retired from serving her God, her family, her friends and whosoever crossed her path that needed a helping hand or a listening ear.

She served from a heart that truly cared about others.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Truman Easley, of Cherokee Village; a son, Ronnie Easley of Cherokee Village; a son, Mark Easley and his wife, Kathy, of Atlanta; one brother, Lyndon Adair of Magazine; four granddaughters, Tonya and Michael Sacomani of Bryant, Amber and Justin Thiel of Springfield, Mo., Christin Faith Easley of Tulsa, Okla., Nichole Easley of Atlanta; one grandson, Ronnie "Radar" Easley of Bryant; and four great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by many loving, caring friends, acquaintances and strangers whose prayers and thoughtful expressions of love are so deeply appreciated and cherished by her surviving family members.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Abundant Life Church at Hardy with Joey Barnes officiating. Burial will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Moore's Chapel Cemetery at Waveland. Arrangements are by Heath Funeral Home of Hardy.

All of us whose lives have been touched by "DD" will miss her ever so much.
