Clara Glas Pelgen (#18661997) was sister to my great
grandmother, Susanna Glas Eisenbeis. The sisters travelled to America
in 1859 and settled in Aurora. Clara married Fred Pelgen. Johann
Heinrich (Henry) Eisenbeis reached the U.S. in 1860 and married
Susanna in May 1861. He then joined the 32nd Indiana Volunteers. He
was wounded and hospitalized in Louisville. Some time between 1865
and early 1867, the couple moved to Louisville and remained for the
rest of their lives.
