Sent to Knoxville as he took the Oath and then sent to Chattanooga. Was listed as a rebel deserter. Pension #1976 filed 5/25/1899 accepted. Living in Cookeville. Says prison experience disabled him. Born 2/26/1836 in Jackson Co. Had wife and 8 children. T.A. Head vouched for him. Doubtful if he was an actual deserter.
