Sam Williams age 89 of Combs Branch Road, Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Friday, January 12, 2018 at his home. He was born June 1, 1928 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late Rollie and Ann Gamble Williams. He was the husband of Marie Jean Howard Williams, who survives.

Survivors also include five sons, Ricky Williams and Randy Williams both of Salyersville, Kentucky, Henry Williams of Richmond, Kentucky, Jim May of Lawrence County, Kentucky, and Sammy May of Winchester, Kentucky, six daughters, Linda Kincer of Richmond, Kentucky, Naomi Helton of Campton, Kentucky, and Mary Howard, Marie (Kay) Arnett, Tammy Howard, and Virchie Howard all of Salyersville, Kentucky, three brothers, Judge Williams, Lawson Williams, and Frank Williams, all of Salyersville, Kentucky, one sister, Wanda Watson of Salyersville, Kentucky, numerous grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.

Sam was a devoted member of the Elk Creek Freewill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Sam is preceded in death by one brother, Ham Williams, and one sister, Virginia Howard.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Monday, January 15, 2018 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Paul Hiner, Allison Howard, and Jonathan Arnett officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Cemetery at Elk Creek, Kentucky. Friends may visit the funeral home after 2 pm Sunday, January 14, 2018, and anytime Monday prior to funeral services.
