Mrs. Mildred James Dukes, age 88, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away January 11, 2018. She was born on June 7, 1929 in Douglas County.
Mrs. Dukes retired from Greystone Power Corporation after thirty-two years of service. She was a member of Pray’s Mill Baptist Church where she was a faithful member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Dukes was preceded in death by her husband: Willard B. Dukes; her son: Larry Dukes; and her parents: Frank and Addie Renfroe James.
She is survived by her son: Gary Dukes and wife, Joyce; daughter: Louise McAfee and husband, Steve; daughter-in-law: Jean Dukes; grandchildren: Denise Dukes, Angela Wiggins and husband, Stacy, Stacey Dukes, Rebecca Foley, and husband, Jason, Jamie Watson and husband, Jim; great grandchildren: Michon Stanley, Dylan Lewis, Caleb Wiggins, Thomas Watson, Lily Watson, and Aidan Foley; three great-great grandchildren; brothers: Mac James and wife, Joanne and Malcolm James and wife, Patsy; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 p.m.
The Funeral Service will be Sunday, January 14, 2018, at 2:00 pm at Hightower’s Chapel with Dr. Josh Buice officiating. Music will be by Kari Buice and Marshall James.
Interment will follow in Pray’s Mill Cemetery with Stacy Wiggins, Jim Watson, Jason Foley, Marshall James, Cliff Brockman, and Leon Johnson serving as Pallbearers. Charles Daniel will serve as Honorary Pallbearer.
