He was a United States Air Force Veteran, station in Turkey, Guam, and Thailand. He was employed at SAU Tech in Camden, AR for 20 years, and was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid golfer, playing at the El Dorado Lion's Club.
Preceding him in death are his parents; brother, Chester Cole; and two sisters, Verneal Horn, and Ada Jumper.
Survivors include his wife, Joy Johnson Cole, of El Dorado; three sons, Rodney Cole (Lynn) of El Dorado, Scott Cole of Little Rock, Barry Cole of Tallahassee, FL; brother, Jim Cole (Freda) of Jonesboro, AR; seven grandchildren, Jessica Bell (Caleb), Josh Cole (Mary), Nic Cole, Alyson Cole, Erin Graham (Patrick), Spencer Cole, Cody Morgan; four great grandsons, Justin Bell, Matthew Bell, Silas Graham, and Nolan Morgan.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Arlington Memorial Park
