"Don Leo" was born in Offenbach, Germany (address: Frankfurter Straße 62) on August 14, 1858 and founded a brewery, the Kopp Deutsche Brauerei Bavaria, in Bogota, Colombia, in 1889. He was so well-known for his generosity that people would travel to visit him to ask for his support. Now, after his death, his tomb receives the greatest number of visitors daily in the Cementerio Central (Bogota), amongst 8 million residents and countless mausoleums that belong to great poets, ex-Presidents and famous politicians. People from many regions of Colombia and from all walks of life line up to recite his prayer (which can be purchased from street vendors at the entrance to the cementery) and whisper their whishes in Don Leo's ear. He is considered by many to be a Saint.
