Rita Sue Waldron Chandler, 64 of Tazewell, VA died Monday, January 8, 2018 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born January 31, 1953 at Bluefield, WV she was a daughter of the late AY and Betty Warf Waldron. She worked at Tazewell Community Hospital as an LPN for 17 years before becoming disabled.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, David Phillips and second husband, Alex Edward Chandler.
She is survived by her daughter, Casaundra Blaine Chandler Sheppard and husband, Neric of Tazewell, VA; three sons, David "Kris" Phillips and Jennifer of Asheboro, NC, Brian Phillips and wife, Kyla of New Kent, VA, and Brandon Chandler of Mechanicsville, VA; sister, Brenda Waldron of Keen Mountain, VA; brothers, Freddie Waldron and wife, Patty of Tazewell, VA and Rick Waldron and wife, Traci of Garner, NC; grandchildren, Adyson, Kynlee, Rowann, and Axle Sheppard, Joshua, Riley, Destiny, and Brett Phillips; one great grandchild, Piper McNeil.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA where funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM with Pastor Mark Sexton officiating. In keeping with her wishes, following traditional services cremation will be the final disposition.
