Robert Chisholm Pickett, 62, passed away on January 5, 2018, surrounded by his loving family, four years after a diagnosis of leiomyosarcoma. Born April 28, 1955, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Rob grew up in Lynchburg, Virginia.

He met his wife Fran Ulmer Pickett in 1976 at an InterVarsity Christian Fellowship summer camp. He graduated from the University of Virginia in 1977 and married Fran in April 1979, while he was serving on the staff of IVCF. After four years of ministry, Rob spent most of his career in banking and most recently served as the Director of the Small Business Development Center at Eastern Florida State College. His heart was always focused on ministry and generously serving others, with his profession only facilitating the nurturing of his proudest achievement -- his family. He and Fran raised four children: Robert Allen Pickett (Emily), Andrew Burton Pickett, Laura "Lolly" Elizabeth Donoghue (Brendan) and George Ronald Pickett.

Rob and Fran spent most of their adult lives in Florida and the last 30 years in Brevard County. Rob derived his greatest joy from relationships with his family and friends, his church, and his community. He deeply enjoyed children, music, humor, the oceans and mountains, and mechanical things. He was a long-time member of Trinity Wellsprings Church and previously served as a founding elder at Northside Presbyterian Church in Melbourne and Christ Community Church in Titusville. He was also a member of the Eau Gallie Rotary Club.

He will be remembered for his generosity, humor, hospitality, devotion to family and church, and his warm and kind nature.

In addition to Fran and his four children, Rob is survived by his grandchildren Robert Luke Pickett and Eli James Pickett and his step-mother Sue Brown Pickett, siblings Marybeth Drake (Peter), Kathryn Tucker (Barry), Allen Pickett (Tracy), Peter Pickett (Kristin), Abby Pickett and step-siblings Stephanie Stewart and Vernon Stewart (Faye). He was preceded in death by his father Robert Theodore Pickett, his mother Lucy Elizabeth(Smith) Pickett-Stewart and his step-father, Jack Burton Stewart.(Find A Grave Memorial# 25055616) ..............
