MARTIN, Lester Guy, 99, of Richmond, Va., passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. He was predeceased by his father and mother, William Arthur Martin and Dollie Jane Nolen Martin; his siblings, Carl Arthur Martin, Clovis Martin Brill, Geneva Martin Bates, Edith Martin Power, William Arthur. Jr and William H. Martin. Guy was a member of the Greatest Generation, having served in WWII, attaining the rank of Lt. Colonel. He was retired from social work at the Reception and Diagnostic Center in Bon Air, Va. He is survived by his children, Jeffry Scott Martin, William Randall Martin, Stephen Gregory Martin, Deirdre Jane Martin; his grandsons, William Edward Martin and Joseph Anthony Martin; his nephews, Arno William Brill and Dan Bates; and his niece, Patsy Jane Curley. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Oakey's South Chapel, with service conducted by Rev C. A. Tony Ward to follow at 12 noon.
