(1914 - 1996)

Theresa A. Tomchek, age 82, a resident of St. Mary's Home, died Wednesday morning, October 23, 1996, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 25, 1996, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Camillus Janas O.F.M. with burial at St. Casimir Church Cemetery, Northeim.

The former Theresa Zagrodnik was born October 16, 1914, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late John and Angeline Korlesky Zagrodnik. She was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School class of 1932. On November 8, 1939, she married Joseph F. Tomchek at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The couple farmed in the town of Centerville moving to Manitowoc in 1960. He preceded her in death December 1, 1992. Mrs. Tomchek was employed with several pharmacies in the area for 32 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Manitowoc Senior Center and St. Therese Society of St. Andrew Catholic Church.

Survivors include one sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Paul Duruz; three sisters-in-law, Mildred Zagrodnik, Stella Tomchek, all of Manitowoc, Claire Tomchek, Milwaukee; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Christine Ploederl, and two brothers, Dominic Zagrodnik and Stanley Zagrodnik.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Andrew Catholic Church from 9 a.m. Friday until the time of service at 10:30 a.m.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

Miss Zagrodnik Becomes Bride of Joseph Tomchek

Miss Theresa Zagrodnik, daughter of John Zagrodnik, Manitowoc, was married to Joseph F. Tomchek, son of Frank Tomchek, Newton, route 1, at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's church at Manitowoc by the Rev. J. Landoski.

Miss Alice Zagrodnik, sister of the bride, and Miss Mary Tomchek, sister of the bridegroom, attended the bride, the former in a frock of fuchsia taffeta and the latter in aqua taffeta. They carried colonial bouquets of Johanna Hill roses, sweet peas and pompons.

The bride's dress was fashioned of brocaded moiré, styled with a sweetheart neckline. Her veil was of fingertip length and she carried a shower bouquet of Los Angeles roses and sweet peas.

The best man was Alvin Mrotek and Harry Masiak attend as groomsman.

A reception is being held at the home of the bride's father, after which the couple will leave on a wedding trip, the destination of which is unknown.
