Acie Carl Shrewsbury, Jr., age 76, of Culpeper, VA, formerly of Lego, WV, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at University of Virginia Medical Center. Mr. Shrewsbury was retired from RF&P and CSX Railroad, where he last worked as a brakeman and as a conductor. He attended First Century Baptist Church in Culpeper, VA, and formerly attended Victory Baptist Church at Beaver, WV. Mr. Shrewsbury was a US Army Veteran and a member of the United Transportation Union. He enjoyed spending time with his family and sports.

Born on July 7, 1941 in Sullivan, WV, he was the son of the late Acie "Carl" Shrewsbury Sr. (1913-1991), and Dell Vina "Vinnie" Reed-Shrewsbury (1920-2005).

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 54 years, Mary Melinda "Lynn" Cullop-Shrewsbury (B. 1941) whom he married on June 10, 1963 in Odd, Raleigh County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Raleigh County, WV, 1963, Page 601, Application Date: June 6, 1963); children, Mitzie Lynn Shrewsbury-Preuss and husband James Preuss of Oakton VA, Acie Carl Shrewsbury III and wife Kathleen Harrell-Shrewsbury of Culpeper VA, Stephanie Edwina Shrewsbury-Leuterio and husband Gerry Leuterio of Culpeper VA.

He is also survived by his siblings, David Harold Shrewsbury and wife Catherine Shrewsbury of Chicago IL, Norma Lee Shrewsbury-Smith of Coal City, Pamela Kay Shrewsbury-Garretson and husband James Garretson of Beaver, and Penny Faye Shrewsbury-Fitzpatrick and husband Dale Fitzpatrick of Crab Orchard; ten grandchildren, James Evan, Charly Ann, Caroline Grace, Hope Corryn, Micah Joseph, Thomas Bibb, Erin Constance , Megan Alexandra , Luke Garrett and Asia Marie; four great grandchildren, Adilynn Carly, Jordan, Wesley, Ethen and Miles.

Funeral services to Celebrate the life of Acie Carl Shrewsbury, Jr., will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at 1:00 PM, at Victory Baptist Church, Beaver, WV, with Pastor Rollan Roberts officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum in Beckley.
