Daughter of the late Rosalind Lea Abercrombie and Charles Lane Abercrombie. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Jackson Dickinson Sr.; and her sister, Rosalind Abercrombie Shields. She is survived by her two sons, John Jackson Dickinson Jr. (Sarah) and Charles Lane Dickinson (Kathryn); four grandchildren, Thomas Jackson Dickinson, Catherine Lea Dickinson, Lucy Fisher Dickinson and William Jackson Dickinson; a brother, Charles Lane Abercrombie; and a sister, Ann Abercrombie Williams. Lane grew up in Danville, Virginia and graduated from Randolph-Macon Woman's College. She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Lane was a wonderful person who was known for always putting others first. She was happiest when she was in the company of her family, especially her two sons and her four grandchildren, and her many friends. A memorial service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 903 Forest Avenue, Richmond, Va. 23229 on Monday, January 15, at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, the Central Virginia Food Bank (www.feedmore.org), 1415 Rhoadmiller Street, Richmond, Va. 23220, or to your favorite charity.
