David Michael Calvert, of Oklahoma City, passed away January 6, 2018, at the age of 79. He was born September 20, 1938, in Ada, Oklahoma, to Robert & Ollie (Wilcox) Calvert. David was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and was a very family-oriented man. David enjoyed gardening and taking care of his yard. He worked hard to get the yard o the month. David was an avid OU Sooners fan as well as the OKC Thunder. He loved animals, especially his two puppies, “Gabby” and “Izzy.” David was an Eagle Scout and a member of the FFA Club. He was a very devout Christian and he enjoyed his Bible study class. David was a sales manager for Wilson’s Foods, and then became the general manager when it became Bakerite and he retired after 32 years of service. He was the founder and owner of D & S Vending Company.
David is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sue; 3 children, Keith Calvert & wife, Tina, Robin Frizzell, & Chris Calvert & wife, Shelly; 5 grandchildren, Nicole King & husband, Damon, Clifton Calvert & wife, Sheena, Brittany Frizzell, Megan Calvert, and Matthew Calvert; 6 great-grandchildren, Mariah Frizzell, Addison Henry, Dean Calvert, Brayden King, Caroline Calvert, and Emily King; siblings, Roddy Calvert, Linda Peterson & husband, David; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many loving friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bob & Ollie Calvert.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 11, 2018, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 120 South Broadway, in Moore, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home.
