Mrs. W.S. Sampley, wife of the express messenger who runs on the Rock Island from Graham, Texas to Bridgeport, Texas, died in her room at the Dolman Hotel in Graham, Texas. She had been feeling ill with a severe pain in her side while at services in the Methodist Church Sunday night, but the next morning seemed improved. On Tuesday, she was able to go up town and kiss her husband goodbye and told him to entertain no fears for her, she would soon be alright. About 4:00 in the afternoon, the pain in her side returned and she was given some headache tablets, but they failed to relieve her and two doctors were summoned. In spite of their best efforts, she continued to grow worse until death came.

Mrs. Sampley came to Graham, Texas with her husband from Stephenville, Texas just a week ago. Mrs. Dolman stated she had never seen a sweeter or more womanly woman.

Survived by her husband; one little girl, two years of age.

The remains were shipped to Bryson where they will be buried. Mrs. Sampley was raised near Jacksboro, Texas and was the daughter of William Helotn. She was well known and loved by all.
