Lula June Scott of Claypool, Ind. passed to Heaven on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018 at age 90.

She was born to the late Edward and Edna Ragon on Jan. 21, 1927 in Lawrenceville, Ill. She married the late Estel “Ike” C. Scott, a U.S. Army and WWII veteran, in 1946, and they lived most of their lives in the Burket-Claypool area.

Lula, who went by “June,” enjoyed fishing and loved to cook and bake with her dog, Ladybug, at her feet. Her true passion in life was her family, who feel truly blessed and honored to have known June as an enduring model of faith, love, kindness and sacrifice. Her whimsical, cheeky spirit brought immeasurable joy and laughter to her family.

June is survived by three sons, Ronald E. (Karen) Scott, Sr. of Tippecanoe, Donald L. (Linda) Scott, Sr. of Claypool; and Thomas D. (Janet) Scott of Knoxville, Tenn. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. She had 12 siblings and is survived by a brother, Luther Ragon, Michigan City, Ind; and sisters Bertha Griffith, Hammond, Ind.; Margaret Ann Parsons, Huntsville, Al.; and Mary Katherine, Noblesville, Ind..
