Dr. Terry Lee Hansen, 82, passed away January 9, 2018 in Pocatello, Idaho. Born November 21, 1935 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, he was the third and youngest child of Leland E. and Iola Stanger Edgley Hansen.

Terry was raised in the Lincoln and Iona areas, primarily on a farm about one and a half miles west of Iona. He attended grades one through ten in Iona, and he attended Bonneville High School his last two years when the high schools in Iona, Ammon and Ucon were combined. Upon graduation from Bonneville H.S. Terry entered Utah State University planning to become a veterinarian, but he later decided human medicine was better suited to him. In 1957 he graduated from Utah State with a degree in zoology and entered Northwestern University Medical School graduating in 1961. A rotating internship was spent in Portland, Oregon at the University of Oregon Medical School Hospitals and Clinics now known as a part of Oregon Health Sciences University. Terry then entered the United States Navy and served for two years as a general duty medical officer. Returning to the University of Oregon, a residency in ophthalmology was completed and a practice in ophthalmology followed for the next 27 years in Pocatello, Idaho. Terry retired in 1995 partly for health reasons and partly to pursue other interests.

In 1958 Terry married Mary Evelyn Vollman in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple and four children were born to this union: Terry Jr (Jill), Kathryn (Eric), Stephen (Emily) and Kristen (Joe). He has been blessed with 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Terry was active in the LDS Church serving in many teaching and executive positions including Elders Quorum President, High Priests Group Leader, Bishops Counselor, Bishop, High Counselor and Mission President Counselor. He and his wife served a mission in the Philippine Manila Mission and another local service mission.
