Barbara Ann Moreno, 79, passed from this life on January 8, 2018 at UTMB Hospital surrounded by her husband, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Funeral mass will be held 11:00am Tuesday January 16, 2018 at St Patrick's Catholic Church, Father Orrin Halepeska Celebrant.

Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston. There will be a reception at St Patrick's Auditorium following the burial.

The family will receive visitors from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home where a rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m.

Barbara was born on the Island to Peter and Catherine O'Donohoe on April 11, 1938. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Barbara loved to cook and would make sure no-one went hungry. She brought joy and laughter to everyone that met her. She had the most beautiful and brilliant Blue-Eyes.

Barbara was an expert Bingo player and would never miss her football squares. She made sure her home was open to any one in need, especially Family. Barbara was truly and deeply loved by her 19 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed and in our hearts forever.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Peter Michael O'Donohoe and Katherine Velma O'Donohoe; son John Michael Moreno; and beloved Son in Law Tony Hernandez.

Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years John Moreno Jr. and children, Sherry Moreno, Patsy Hernandez, Belinda Canales, Vera Torres and significant other John Ramos, Josie Coleman, Katherine Kiamar and Fiancé Fred Torres, Lawrence Moreno Sr. and significant other Kelly Guerra. She was also survived by two granddaughters she loved and raised as her own Deanna Shiloh and Fiancé Robert Diaz Jr. and Barbie Moreno.

Pallbearers are grandson's JoJo Villarreal, Jason Canales, Lawrence Moreno Junior, Julian Williams, Blake Williams, and Freddie Shiloh Jr.

The family would like to thank the Dr.’s and nurses of UTMB hospital for the wonderful care given our loved one.
