Chris H. Nowell, age 68, passed away May 7, 2017 at Kobacker House. Chris was born on September 23, 1948 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Robert G. and Alberta M. (Hanna) Nowell. Graduate of West High School in 1966. Veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the U.S. Air Force during the 1968 Tet Offensive. Retired from Ameritech in 1999. Chris is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tom Durflinger. Chris is survived by his wife, Debra; son, Scott (Jamie) Nowell; granddaughters, Kailyn, Ryleigh, Makenzie and Brielle; sister, Grace (Pete) Staples, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Diane Federer, Chriss Dunbar and Jim Kriebel, Tom (Eileen) Dunbar and Kiersten Chace along with many nieces and nephews. Chris loved to boat, fish, hunt, and spend precious time with his family and friends. He was a kind, gentle, and loving husband, father, and friend and will be truly missed by all. Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL 450 W. Olentangy Street Powell, Ohio 43065 where a funeral service will follow at 8:00 PM. Military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force and the Delaware County Veterans Association.
