Mr. Williams, born in Sampson County, was the son of the late Isaac Newton Williams and Alma Harrell Williams. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Williams and a sister, Rhonda Williams.
He was a retired landscaper and a member of Freedom Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Horne Williams of the home; daughter, Katrina Edwards and husband Carl of Roseboro; son George "Bud" Mercer and wife Daphine of Rsoeboro; sisters, Kathy Fuller of Fuquay Varina; Lori Purcell of Apex, Brenda Johnston of SC; brothers, Ted Williams of Raleigh and Dickie Williams of VA; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren and two step grandchildren.
