Kenneth Raymond Grant, 82, of St Johns passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the Clyde E Lassen State Veterans Nursing Home. Kenneth was born on March 18, 1935 in Rockwood Texas to the Late Pleasant Ellie Ray and Joe Florence Grant.

Kenneth served for over 20 years with the U.S. NAVY and retired as a Chief Quartermaster. He had a passion for pets especially puppies. He was a gentle soul, selfless and giving who always smiled. He had a positive outlook on life and made many friends at the nursing home.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jimmy Dale Grant. He lives on in the hearts of his spouse, Lynn T. Pero; children, Kenneth Raymond Grant and spouse, Marie, Michelle Grant and spouse, Robbie Crabtree, Rusty Grant and spouse, Pam; grandchildren, Sarah, Kenny, Shannon, Sean, Jason, Jeffery, Justin, Brooke; 4 great grandchildren; brother, Gene Rice and spouse, Virginia “Pete” and many other extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

A Celebration of Kenneth’s life will be 2:30pm Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the Jacksonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent in Kenneth’s honor to S.A.F.E. Pet Rescue Inc. 1250 A1A S, St Augustine, FL 32080. A special thanks to the S.A.F.E. Pet Rescue who kindly allowed one of their rescues stay with Kenneth and bring him comfort in his last few days.
