David will be missed by his loving wife of 47 years, Rosalie Ennis, and his daughters Stephanie Ennis, Andrea Ennis and Nicole Ennis Harp (Christopher). He will also be missed by his grandchildren, his brother Jimmy Ennis (Eleanor) and his aunt Molly Ennis Carruth. David is preceded in death by his parents Edwin & Bessie Ennis, and his brother Chuck Ennis.
He will be remembered for his story telling, laughter, friendship, drive, ambition and loving spirit. David lived a life of integrity that has woven a clear foundation for his family. His incredible work ethic led him through a 40 year career at Defense Logistic Agency. During his career he received some of the highest honors as a civilian military employee, including the honor of being inducted into the Defense Logistic Agency, Hall of Fame. He also proudly served on Escalon City Council for 24 years, and was Mayor for 3 terms. To list the numerous amounts of community service and volunteer hours David contributed in his lifetime would be impossible. He dedicated his life to the spirit of building a community for others. His legacy will always thrive through the community that he lovingly helped build.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 5-7pm at Deegan Funeral Chapel, 1441 San Joaquin Street in Escalon. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 16th at 11am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 19399 CA 120 in Ripon, followed by a Graveside Service at St. John's Catholic Cemetery
