Anna Marie Evans, age 86, daughter of Louis and Anita Evans, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Miss Evans was born on November, 1, 1931. She entered the Sisters of Notre Dame in September 1949, and, as Sister Mary Charlanne, taught in schools of the Covington and Cincinnati dioceses. Most of her teaching career was at Notre Dame Academy (1952-53 and 1959-73) where she was very active in speech and drama. Miss Evans left the convent in 1975. She taught at Lexington Catholic High School until 1978 when she became principal at Christ the King school in Lexington from 1978-1983. She served as principal at St. Pius School in Edgewood, KY from 1983-89 and at St. John School in Georgetown, KY from 1989-96. After her retirement in 1996, Miss Evans volunteered at Be Concerned. Miss Evans is survived by one niece, two nephews and thirteen grandnieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother, Louis Charles Evans. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Augustine Church on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 10 AM until Mass of Christian burial begins at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Mother of God Cemetery in Ft. Wright, KY. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Notre Dame Academy 1699 Hilton Dr. Park Hills, KY 41011 and/or Be Concerned 1100 W. Pike Street Covington, KY 41011.
