Stephen Mitchell Roberts, 68, of Richardson, Texas, passed away on Sunday, January 07, 2018.
A son of Mary Jo Roberts (Mitchell) and the late Melvin Raborn Roberts, Stephen was born on September 4, 1949, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Steve was a graduate of Hillcrest High School and attended the University of North Texas. In addition to being passionate about motor sports and part of the auto industry for over 40 years, he had a deep love for music and animals. Known for his witty sense of humor and being a jokester, he will always be remembered for making everyone he knew smile.
Along with his father, his daughter Melissa Brookshire also preceded Stephen in death.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Roberts; mother Mary Jo Roberts; son, Stephen Michael Roberts; granddaughter, Tabatha Brookshire; and brother, Ron Roberts.
A private burial will be held at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Reception is being held from 1-4 pm on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the home of Barbara Roberts located at 1619 Salem Dr., Richardson, TX 75080.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that charitable donations be made in Steve's name to the ASPCA, St. Jude's Children's Hospital or their preferred charity.
