Paul William “Bill” Vance – age 85 of Mascot passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018. Member of Clear Springs Baptist Church where he was a longtime Deacon, Sunday School Class Teacher, and member of the Men’s Sunday School Class. Retired from Gerdau Ameristeel. Bill enjoyed playing music at the South Knoxville Senior Center and the Bradbury Community Club. Preceded in death by parents, Paul and Thelma Vance; and siblings, Margaret Peel, Beth McCarty, Juanita Davis, Virginia Wilhite, Fred Vance, Flora Voltz, John Vance, Ellen Wilhite, Almeda Vance, and Frank Vance. Survived by wife of 52 years, Joann Vance; son, Mark (Jennifer) Vance; daughter, Rhonda (Joey) Drinnon; grandchildren, Riley Vance, Alexi Vance, and Makayla Vance; and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff at Ft. Sander’s Cardiovascular ICU for their excellent care and compassion. The family would like to express appreciation for the numerous prayers, cards, visits, and phone calls from his precious friends and family. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at Clear Springs Baptist Church followed by the funeral service at 7:00 PM with Dr. Neil Gant and Rev. Hartsell McCurry officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45 AM on Wednesday at Clear Springs Cemetery for an 11:00 AM interment. Pallbearers: Riley Vance, Wayne Lynch, Keith Walker, Rusty McCroskey, Nathan McCroskey, and Tony Chandler.
