Mr. Odis Lee Smith, 90, of Southgate, Michigan formerly of Mt. Croghan, South Carolina passed away on January 9, 2018.
Mr. Odis Lee Smith was born on June 4, 1927 to the late Torrance L. Smith and Nellie Melton Smith in Mt. Croghan, South Carolina. He later met and united in marriage to the late Jane Childs. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. In addition to his parents and wife, Odis is preceded in death by his brother, Hubert Smith and sisters Narie Weaver, Vera Lail and Lexie Varnadore.
Those left to celebrate and remember his life include his loving sons, Frank Smith of Coldwater, Michigan and Odis Lee Smith Jr. (Lasca) of Taylor, Michigan; daughters, Rebecca Bedwell (Don) of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, Connie Trott (Ed) of White Lake, Michigan, Tamara Welch (Martin) of Wyandotte, Michigan and Vicki Maki (Curt) of Brighton, Michigan; brother, Cecil Ray Smith; sisters, Velma Boatwright, Nelzie Wallace, Georgia Swells and Carolyn Blackwell; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery in Ruby, South Carolina with Rev. Fred Mays officiating.
