Bob was born April 3, 1925 in Danville, IL to Lester and Grace LeNeve Lenover. He married Dorothy M. Crawford on April 14, 1946 and she proceeded him in death on December 17, 2003.
He is survived by one son, Dave (Simphi) Lenover; grandchildren Drew Broderick, Tim (Erika) Broderick, Michelle Schutt, Abbi (Justin) Strader, and Lesli Lenover; great-grandchildren Devin Broderick, Austin Broderick-Weidmann, Carter Strader, and Nora Strader; and one sister, Jean Brady.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; brother Richard “Dick” Lenover; and four daughters, Rena Schutt, Laura Broderick, Mary Klaus, and Rachel Lenover.
Bob served in the Army from 1943-1946, he worked at Lenover Sales and Service for 20 years, flew planes for Louis “Watcha” McCollum for 5 years, and retired from Hyster after 17 years. Bob was a very knowledgeable mechanic and could fix anything. He enjoyed tinkering and his American freedoms.
A joint Memorial Service will be held for Bob and his daughter, Laura Broderick (who also passed away on January 4, 2018), on January 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion Street, Danville, IL. Rod Godley will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial at Sunset Memorial Park with Military Rites accorded by American Legion Post 210.
