Cathy worked for many years at her family's business, AAMAC, in Gainesville, FL. She made a decision on a career and life change by registering for college, where she earned a degree, with honors, in Respiratory Therapy. She waked as a supervisor at UFHEALTH Shands for 20 years.
Cathy wanted to experience everything life had to offer and she loved the outdoors! She enjoyed canoeing the Santa Fe River, tubing down Ichetucknee and hitting the beach as often as she could. She was always eager to cruise the many local dirt roads as a way to relax and enjoy nature. She also loved to travel, she was just as quick to hop on a jet for a cross country escape as she was for an amazing road trip. She loved music and enthusiastically enjoyed concerts. whether it was rock, country or a Broadway musical.
Cathy is survived by her loving husband, William Hines; son, Brandon O'Steen of High Springs, FL; daughter, Melissa (Steve) Mann of High Springs, FL; her mother, Jeanette McKibben of Gainesville, FL; and her siblings, David McKibben III of Alachua, FL, Carrie (Jeff) Wood of Hilliard, FL, James 'Jimbo' (Lisa) McKibben of Lacrosse, FL, John (Jennifer) McKibben of Alachua, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, David L. McKibben II.
Graveside services were held on January 9, 2018 in the High Springs Cemetery.
