Luther was born in Mt. Pleasant, NC on April 14, 1924 to the late Madge Faggart Lentz and Charles G. Lentz, Sr. He was a WWII Naval combat veteran and was retired from ISO.
Luther was a devoted husband, father and a devout Christian and was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church where he served on various committees. He was a Mason, Rite Mason, Jamil Shriner and VFW member.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church, 827 Wildwood Avenue, Columbia, SC 29203 with burial to follow in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family.
Luther was predeceased by his four older siblings and is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lessie; and his son, Russell (Deborah).
