Morris Carlton Shedd, Sr., 67, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018. He was born November 17, 1950 in Lawrenceville, GA.
Morris had lived in Jacksonville for the past 65 years, was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School and attended University of North Florida college. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, a computer programmer with the U.S. Postal Service and a commercial fisherman. Morris was an avid Gator football fan, loved baseball and will be dearly missed by all.
He was predeceased by his father, Richard Harmon; mother, Dercie Mae Shedd Harmon; brothers, Gerald, Teddy; sister, Karen. Survivors include his children, Tracy Tritten (James), Amy Bressler (Joseph), Morris Shedd, Jr. (Amanda), Aaron Rivas and Emily Holt; best friend and the love of his life, Linda Holt; sisters, Reita Parker (John), Barbara Aflleje (Wayne); grandchildren, Luke, Abby, Lucy, Morris III, Melody; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 9 at 12:00pm in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Rd 32218, with Pastor Derrell Shedd officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Jacksonville National cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
