Susan Frances Hawkins, 72, of Inman, SC died Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born March 8, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Frances Kautz and the widow of Herbert Caris Hawkins.

Susan was a paramedic with the City of Danbury, CT, as well as Campion Ambulance, and Prospect Volunteer Ambulance. She was also a CPR and First Aid Instructor. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Danbury, CT.

She enjoyed traveling in their RV, watching NASCAR, loved her favorite dog Jack. Susan was very proud of her Hungarian heritage and enjoyed cooking traditional meals.

Survivors include her son, Matthew Roberts (Kelley) of Thomaston, CT; Michael Roberts of Meriden, CT; Karen Kochies (Bill) of Inman, SC; grandchildren, Nicholas Roberts, Tanner Roberts, Elena Roberts, Ruslan Kochies, Mason Kochies, and Braden Kochies. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her son, Joseph Roberts II and his partner, Grace Halkett, and brother, Stephen Kautz.

Visitation will be 9:00 – 11:00 AM Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, CT 06810. Funeral service will follow at Cornell Memorial Home. Burial will be held in New Milford Center Cemetery, 6 Poplar St, New Milford, CT 06776.
