John W. Keener, Jr. age 68 of Lenoir City went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 1, 2018 at his home. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Centerview Baptist Church and was retired from Colonial Freight Systems.

Preceded in death by his wife, Martha L. Keener; parents, John Keener, Sr. and Ethel Hannah Keener; brothers, Robert Smith and Franklin Keener; nephews, Charlie Smith and Carl Dean Smith. Survived by his children: Christy (Allen) Crumley of Lenoir City, Tony (Melissa) Keener of Loudon, Sandra (Lenard) Evans of Jonesboro, GA, Dakota Keener, Dalton Keener, Sam (Jessie) Keener all of Lenoir City; grandchildren, Jeana (Samuel) Thomas, Allen “Buddy” (Brittani) Crumley, Drew Keener, Kayla and Ken Evans; great-grandchildren, Hayden Thomas, Carson Thomas, Langston and Landon; brother-in-law, Charles “Pnut'”McMahan; sisters-in-law, Josephine Dear and Teresa McMahan; special nephews and nieces, Steve (Kathy) Smith, Ginny “Sis” (Dean) Daughtery along with many other nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Avalon Hospice for their care and support.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. Saturday, January 6th at Centerview Baptist Church at 10900 Second Drive, Concord, TN. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ricky Witt, Rev. Samuel Thomas, Jr. and Rev. Vernon Heatherly officiating. Family and friends will proceed to Shady Grove Cemetery for graveside services.

Serving as pallbearers: Sam Keener, Tony Keener, Dakota Keener, Dalton Keener, Allen “Buddy” Crumley, Steve Smith, and Leslie Sheets.
