Faye M. Robinson

Birth Date: September 3, 1939
Death Date: January 2, 2018

Faye Mae Robinson was born on September 3rd, 1939 in Walker, Texas to Robbie Lee Parker. Later, she and her sister, Maureen, were adopted by the Handy family.

She attended and graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High School in Houston , TX and shortly after, married Earnest F. Payton. This union yielded two daughters, Sheila and Sharon.

Later in life, a union in marriage to James H. Robinson, II blessed Faye with two more children, Stephanie and James III, affectionately known as Jimmy.

As a military spouse to James II, Faye was a devoted homemaker while the military moved them all over the western United States, to include California and Oregon, and overseas, to include Japan and Hawaii, before retirement led her family to settle in San Diego.

Perhaps, the task Faye was most devoted to was being a doting grandmother to 8 and great-grandmother to 5 great grandchildren whom she cared for and adored. After raising everyone to adult age and left to raise their own children, Faye declared herself “off duty”, and enjoyed watching some of her favorite shows, such as Judge Judy, CSI, Criminal Minds, and her beloved Young and the Restless while her children and grandchildren returned the favor and took care of her.

On the second day of the new year, 2018, Faye was called home to be reunited with her two children, mother and beloved sister.

Faye was preceded in death by her birth mother, Robbie Lee Parker, beloved sister Maureen Workmon, children Sharon Denise Payton, and James H. "Jimmy" Robinson, III.

She is survived by daughters Sheila Roberts and Stephanie Robinson of San Diego, CA; Eight cherished grandchildren – Ashley Roberts, Marquis Robinson, Sharron Harville, Kejuan Bolden, Angelica Payton, Breanna Davis, Nicholas and Kayla Knight, all of San Diego, CA and five beautiful, great grandchildren – Da’Metrious Harville, Acari and Amya Bolden, Autumn Chambers and Ayden-Michael Harville, all of San Diego, CA. Also near and dear to Faye’s heart are her two beloved nephews, Cedric W. Workmon Sr. (Antoinette) of San Antonio, TX, Michael Workmon of Houston Texas and her great-niece Fran’chelle Workmon and great-nephew Cedric W. Workmon Jr., of Lawton, OK.

Faye will be missed dearly and will forever remain in our hearts.
